We are delighted to support Claire, an advanced neonatal nurse practitioner at Russells Hall Hospital, who is raising funds to improve neonatal simulation training.
Claire has worked in the NHS for 25 years, with 20 years dedicated to caring for babies and families on the neonatal unit. She is passionate about improving care, team development, and patient safety.
Simulation training helps neonatal teams practise managing rare but critical emergencies in a safe environment, building skills, confidence, teamwork and preparedness when real-life situations occur.
However, the unit’s current training doll is outdated. A modern neonatal simulation mannequin would significantly enhance training and support better outcomes for our smallest and most vulnerable patients.
On 16th May, Claire will take on her first bodybuilding competition at the age of 55 to raise funds for this vital equipment. Every donation, big or small, will help us provide the best possible training for staff and the best possible care for babies and their families.
