Dementia unit receives new state of the art equipment

We are pleased to inform the Forget Me Not Unit has had delivered Mobii interactive magic tables, which are fully portable interactive systems designed to project images, games and photos to walls, floors and bedside tables. They also have Reminiscence Interactive Therapy and Activities (RITA) machines, which are digital touch-screen devices that help trigger memories and encourage conversation through music, old films, games and other reminiscence activities.

These pieces of equipment were funded by the £17,000 raised at last year’s Dudley Group NHS Charity Glitter Ball in aid of the dementia appeal.

Both machines have become favourites among patients and staff on the Forget Me Not Unit. They allow staff to tailor activities to each individual’s interests and abilities, supporting emotional wellbeing and creating meaningful moments of joy and connection.

The department has expressed its gratitude to the charity and everyone who supported the Glitter Ball event for making this possible.
