Help us to make a difference

We have put together a useful booklet that gives you more insight into becoming a valued corporate charity partner.

Whatever level you wish to get involved - you will make a difference.

The Dudley Group NHS Charity recognises the importance of charity partnerships. Each one is different; with varied rewards and benefits. We will endeavour to work with you to make sure that we offer as much support that is needed in order for you to fulfil your fundraising goals.

We appreciate that you have busy lives and don’t always have the time to think up new ideas so, with you in mind, our fundraising department have put together regular campaigns and events, helpful packs, merchandise, quizzes and posters.

Corporate partnerships contribute hugely to the funding of patient and family support, medical equipment, innovative research, and the wellbeing of our NHS colleagues.

Meet some of our current partners

Every partnership makes a difference. Here’s how some of our current corporate partners are partnering with us to provide vital support, to raise money and to leave a legacy to help the work of our Trust. Their transformational support has helped to fund important equipment, improve staff rest areas, enhance patient environments and much more.

Waldrons

In 2011 Waldrons Solicitors partnered up with our charity to introduce a Will writing campaign. Since then, Waldrons have generated over £50,000 for our charity.

In addition to championing the Will campaign, the firm have regularly taken a table at our annual Glitter Ball and taken part in our Superhero 5K Fun Run.

Dawn Cash, Associate Director and Head of Private Clients at Waldrons Solicitors, has visited the hospital on numerous occasions to see where their donations are being spent. Dawn said: “Being able to see what the donations have been used for makes it feel real and that we are not just handing money over. We are able to see a real use for the donations that have been raised and are proud of the work that we have done to achieve it. It makes a difference, seeing first hand the benefit that you are making”.

M&S, Merry Hill

M&S Merry Hill generously donated £18,000 to the Dudley Group NHS Charity to support the Georgina Cancer Care Unit at Russells Hall Hospital. Staff at M&S have organised bake sales, sponsored walks, and charity backpacks.

Cancer has impacted many M&S Merry Hill colleagues, so it was a meaningful decision behind the team’s chosen charity partner and fundraising efforts. Just recently, one of the much-loved M&S Merry Hill colleagues, Kath Smith, who worked in the M&S Bakery for over 30 years, sadly passed away with cancer. Kath was treated at the Georgina Ward whilst she was a patient, and her recent passing motivated the colleagues from Merry Hill to go above and beyond in her memory.

Tom Hawthorne, Store Manager at M&S Merry Hill said, “I am so proud of my team for banding together to raise vital money for such an incredible charity. This is a charity that is close to so many hearts at the store and we had an overwhelming response from staff nominating here as our chosen charity. We are looking forward to continuing to a partnership with the Dudley Group NHS Charity raising even more funds to support the Georgina Ward and the great work that they do”.

Godfrey Mansell & Co Accountants

The Halesowen accountancy firm raised over £4,000 for our Baby Bereavement Campaign to improve the environment in which families spend time adjusting to the death of their baby.

Godfrey Mansell & Co have been active fundraisers for the Dudley Group NHS Charity’s campaign and raised the money by organising a number of charity quizzes. Some of the firm’s staff members also took part in the charity’s Superhero 5k Fun Run at Himley Hall Park.

Graham Cook, partner at Godfrey Mansell & Co, said “Over the last couple of years we have had the privilege of an involvement with Holly and her team at the Russells Hall Hospital Baby Bereavement Unit. We cannot overestimate the commitment and dedication Holly and her colleagues show towards the success of the unit and we at GM&Co, for our small part, are really pleased to participate in the fundraising activities”.

George Green Solicitors

The staff at George Green Solicitors raised a grand total of £6,730 for the Baby Bereavement Campaign during their 2023 charity partnership.

All the staff really got involved in their fundraising activities. Most donned their festive tops on Christmas Jumper Day and even held a tombola at Russells Hall Hospital. In July 2023 a group of fourteen colleagues also took on the 21-mile Jurassic Coast Path.

HSBC

The Dudley Group NHS Charity was selected as the HSBC UK Wolverhampton Local Market Charity of the Year for 2022/2023 by its branch staff members, who went on to raise over £10,000 for the charity. They organised team quizzes, bake sales and took part in challenge events like the Tough Mudder.

The vital funds raised have gone on to support the children’s and maternity departments based at Russells Hall Hospital and within our community with additional care and comforts, such as specialist medical equipment, training, information, and facilities for their patients.

Leanne Hailstone, Local Director at HSBC UK Wolverhampton Local Market, said: “The Dudley Group NHS Trust means a huge amount to our staff members and customers, with many of them or their families having used the vital care services it provides. To be able to raise funds to support the Dudley Group NHS Charity has helped them continue to provide additional services and comfort above and beyond NHS funding is really important to us as a team, and we are so excited about the events we have planned throughout the year.

Together we can transform more lives.
