The Gynaecology Garden was officially opened on Thursday 21st October, the area welcomes a peaceful space and support for patients and families who need it the most during a difficult time. The event brought together Trust staff, patients and members of the local community.
The space boasts a lovely seating area, surrounded by potted plants and a beautiful white cherry blossom tree, which will grow to give privacy and hope for those who need it. Thank you to Webbs for donating the tree, the pots and the lovely plants that have created a peaceful, reflecting space. The department organised a sponsored walk in 2023 which raised a significant amount of donations for their Dudley Group NHS Charity charitable fund, the seating area in the garden was purchased through these donations.
A ribbon cutting ceremony marked the official opening, followed by heartfelt speeches about the importance of compassionate healthcare spaces for patient benefit and beautiful poems to mark the occasion all led by staff from the gynaecology department.
The garden is now open daily to support early pregnancy patients, families, and staff and for all those who need a quiet moment of reflection.
