Local London Marathon Runner breaks world record

On Sunday 27th April, local man, Adam Cotterill, smashed the London Marathon by breaking the world record by running the fastest time in a mythical creature costume.

On the hottest day of the year so far, Adam ran 26.2 miles in a record time, of 4 hours and 7 mins beating the mythical creature costume world record by 20 minutes.  Adam created the costume himself, building the internal structure, before adding a white sheet covering the frame and as well as a rainbow tail and a unicorn head; the whole costume covered Adam from his knees to the top of his head.  This isn’t the first time Adam has competed in an outrageous costume; he previously ran as ginger spice from the Spice Girls for the Manchester Marathon.

Adam was proudly supported by his wife Louise, who is a midwife at the Trust, and his two daughters during the race.
