We would like to say a big congratulations and a huge thank you to Lee Meacham, Emma Tetsill and Liz Allen for running the London Marathon on Sunday 21st April 2024. They have collectively raised an amazing £5,000 for the Trust charity.
Lee has raised funds for the Paediatric Emergency Department to help purchase toys for Grant’s adolescence room at Russells Hall Hospital. Emma and Liz have raised funds to enhance patients’ experience within AMU, also at Russells Hall Hospital. Their running times were impeccable, Lee with 4:32:58 and Liz & Emma with 4:52:45, and we couldn’t be prouder of our runners and all the hard work they put in.
Lee said: “I’m grateful I was given the chance to run and complete the London Marathon, I know the department and Grant’s Room will positively benefit from the funds raised. The support given from both mine and Grant’s family and friends and everyone who lined the 26.2-mile route that day, was unreal and I am truly grateful for that. I could not have done it without them.”
Emma and Liz said: “We had the most amazing experience running the London Marathon on Sunday for the Dudley Group NHS Charity. It was tough but the feeling we got crossing the finish line made it all worthwhile. We are so pleased to have raised £2,500 for AMU and we can’t thank everyone enough for their support.”
